8.5 billion dollars? over price!
Microsoft announced that it will take 8.5 billion cash to buy Skype, and the deal has been approved by the board of directors of both companies. Why? Instant messenger or VOIP, all of them are low value to Microsoft enterprise solution or its operation system or office package. What Ballmer cares about is 30 million Skype users. they hope to expand market share in search engine or other internet application through Skype. But my personal opinion: it’s may be a wise strategy, but the price is still too high! Think about how if Microsoft did not shot it? Microsoft got new 3D desktop interface patent
Microsoft got a new patent in 3D desktop technology, which may have significant impact on the future Windows. The patent entitled “3D task space to provide a computer interface methods and tools” (method and apparatus for providing a three-dimensional task gallery computer interface), the interface is designed to help users better manage multi-task operation. According to the patent description, which can multi-task with a floor, walls and ceiling of the 3D environment, the user can in this “room” to different locations within the organizational tasks window.
